Farm Hands on the Potomac: Kusel joins NFU, Knapke leaves USDA, CropLife elects Dillenbeck

The National Farmers Union has named Chase Kusel director of communications. Anne Knapke joined the Meridian Institute as a senior director. She has been at USDA since 2021. 

FMC president Darren Dillenbeck was elected to a two-year team as chair of the CropLife America board of directors. Fifth-generation Colorado rancher Tim Canterbury was elected president of the Public Lands Council. Torrey Advisory Group hired Grace Walker as a member and events manager.

Rod Snyder is departing from his post as top agriculture advisor at the Environmental Protection Agency. Senate Ag Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., named Emily Carwell as chief of staff in her personal office. Jason Smith joined Valent U.S.A. as vice president of sales. The Mushroom Council tapped Amy Wood as president and CEO. Stephanie Pizzoferrato joined CropLife America as director of state government relations.

Farm Hands on the Potomac: Davis joins Chamber; Egg Board, U.S. Grains Council, CLA name new staff; Hasler joins NCGA

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce appointed former congressman Rodney Davis as head of government affairs. The American Egg Board announced new hires: Bill Winkelman, Nick Jones and Erica Mirth. Grace Hasler joined the National Corn Growers Association. The U.S. Grains Council promoted Carlos Suarez to the newly created role of director of global sustainability and hired Stephanie Larson and Emma Dostal.
