Agricultural lenders in the Farm Credit System must have a plan of action on how they will service and enhance their relationships with young, beginning and small (YBS) farmers as part of a rule approved this fall by the Farm Credit Administration board.
The Farm Credit Administration Board has granted approval for a final regulation that governs the provision of services to young, beginning, and small (YBS) farmers and ranchers within the Farm Credit System.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, plans to attempt once again to reform the existing farm bill payment limits, seeking to tighten the amount of people eligible for the government's agricultural programs.
The National Young Farmers Coalition, with support from U.S. restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill, announced a new campaign Tuesday asking Congress to invest $2.5 billion over 10 years to in the 2023 farm bill to “facilitate equitable access to one million acres of land for the next generation of farmers.”
