A Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, Florida Rep. Kat Cammack, says it’s “absolutely feasible” to put parts of the farm bill in a budget reconciliation measure, but that it probably couldn't happen until fiscal 2026.
As the Trump administration tightens its scrutiny over Biden-era climate programs, federal funding for the Working Lands Conservation Corps is drawing to a halt.
USDA officials are defending a freeze on funding that has snagged several programs. In a statement to Agri-Pulse, the department says the Trump administration “rightfully has asked for a comprehensive review of all contracts, work, and personnel across all federal agencies. Anything that violates the President’s Executive Orders will be subject for review.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set today for the second of his two confirmation hearings. This time he’ll be before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Its jurisdiction includes the Food and Drug Administration, which regulates 80% of the food supply.
