Sales of agricultural tractors and combines in March dipped from the same month last year, as farmers and equipment companies grapple with the impacts of an inconsistent supply chain.

Farm equipment manufacturer John Deere announced the creation of a fully autonomous tractor that it plans to make available to farmers later this year at the Consumer Technology Association conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Farm equipment sales finished 2020 by exceeding the previous year’s figures across a variety of categories, according to data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

The outlook for sales of some of the largest pieces of farm equipment might be bleak, but tractor and combine sales are stronger overall than figures observed at this time a year ago.
