A fresh round of Agriculture Department funding is set to invest $401 million to expand internet connectivity to unserved or underserved people in rural parts of the country across 11 states.
States are mapping out internet-limited areas and developing 5-year action plans as they prepare to distribute the most federal aid they've ever seen allocated for broadband expansion.
Broadband service providers should begin receiving funding later this month to increase internet connectivity in over 100,000 rural homes and businesses across nine states.
