Rod Snyder is departing from his post as top agriculture advisor at the Environmental Protection Agency. Senate Ag Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., named Emily Carwell as chief of staff in her personal office. Jason Smith joined Valent U.S.A. as vice president of sales. The Mushroom Council tapped Amy Wood as president and CEO. Stephanie Pizzoferrato joined CropLife America as director of state government relations.

Farm Hands on the Potomac: Davis joins Chamber; Egg Board, U.S. Grains Council, CLA name new staff; Hasler joins NCGA

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce appointed former congressman Rodney Davis as head of government affairs. The American Egg Board announced new hires: Bill Winkelman, Nick Jones and Erica Mirth. Grace Hasler joined the National Corn Growers Association. The U.S. Grains Council promoted Carlos Suarez to the newly created role of director of global sustainability and hired Stephanie Larson and Emma Dostal.

Farm Hands on the Potomac: Steiner joins OFW; USDA staff appointments; CoBank taps Burke

Washington veteran Eric Steiner will join Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Matz’s (OFW) Government Relations’ team as a senior policy advisor. The Agriculture Department announced senior appointments and promotions across the agency, including: Cindy Long, Sean Babington, and Eric Deeble. CoBank named; Sean Burke; as chief financial officer. He will lead the cooperative bank’s finance group. Animal Health Institute president and CEO Mathews will retire at the end of 2024.

Farm Hands West: Fraser to lead Pistachio Growers; Yanez joins Invariant

The American Pistachio Growers tapped Zachary Fraser as president and CEO. Before joining the associaiton, he led a career in sports media, most recently leading LEARFIELD's Fresno State athletics property. Invariant added Nathan Yanez to staff as a manager. Previously, he was a senior account executive at the California-based Lucas Public Affairs focused on biotechnology and the environment.Anna Claire Stietenroth joined the office of Rep. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., as a legislative assistant. She will work on the agriculture, food, animals, transportation and public works portfolio areas.
