Projects to conserve and restore grasslands are among the biggest beneficiaries of $197 million in grants awarded Friday under the Regional Conservation Partnership Program, which uses local contributions to maximize funding for each project.
The Department of Agriculture is making available $225 million for public-private partnerships aimed at conservation projects, with an eye on climate change mitigation, supporting urban agriculture and helping historically underserved producers.
A Department of Agriculture program will invest $330 million in 85 public-private partnerships across the country through a farm bill program designed to funnel money to local conservation projects.
