WASHINGTON, July 5, 2017 - Energy Department (DOE) awarded grants to 58 small businesses to develop clean energy technologies. The projects are expected to improve manufacturing processes, boost building efficiency, increase transportation sustainability, and generate more renewable electricity. Project focuses include geothermal systems, lithium ion technology, wind turbine research, and fuel cell development. Grants are funded by DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy through the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs.
