CALIFORNIA, June 28, 2017 - California’s grid operator for mid-June showed solar energy provided 32 percent of the state’s total power supply. The record-breaking 9,914 megawatts came just in time for a triple-digit heatwave. The landmark solar energy production puts the state on track to achieve its goal of 60 percent of California’s energy. The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) projects the state will exceed its 2017 goal of installing 1.2 megawatts of energy storage. More information is available at SEIA’s website.
