In partnership with Gov. Gavin Newsom's Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has announced two new dashboards that display collaborative fire treatment data and treatment efficiency.
The Interagency Treatment Dashboard, which had been launched as a beta version in 2022, now contains data from 2021 through 2023 showing where prescribed fire, tree planting, thinning and other treatments are complete. The data was collected from federal, state, local, tribal and private institutions.

The Fuel Treatment Effectiveness Dashboard provides detail on how prevention projects will help communities in a wildfire event, which is informed by fires reacting to areas with fuel treatments.
According to the task force, treatment was conducted on more than a million acres in 2023, and prescribed fire treatments doubled from 2021 to 2023.
The Task Force 2025 Action Plan Update will include assessments of the latest findings on wildfire risk reduction following the task force’s next meeting in Sacramento Dec.13.
