The Federal Advisory Committee of the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss food waste, surplus food recovery, and more on Aug. 1.
The committee is inviting urban agriculture producers and the public to attend the meeting and submit comments beforehand. Also up for discussion will be compostable ion-food packaging standards.

USDA's Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production was formed after the 2018 farm bill. The advisory committee plans to address public comments and vote on proposed recommendations during the August meeting.
The virtual gathering will take place at 3 p.m. ET. Attendees must register on the committee’s website.
