Terri Moore, a familiar face in agricultural communications with stops at the White House, USDA, the Senate, and the private sector is set to join the American Farm Bureau Federation as the group’s vice president of communications.
Moore comes from agricultural communications firm Look East, where she served as vice president. Before that, Moore’s career involved several stops in Washington, including as USDA’s director of communications and chief of staff to Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., who she also served during his time as governor of Nebraska.
In a statement, Moore said she looks forward “to rolling up my sleeves in service to America’s farmers and ranchers.”
Dale Moore, Farm Bureau’s executive vice president, said Terri Moore’s “leadership and talents, paired with the skills and abilities of our award-winning communications staff, will provide excellent service and results for the entire Farm Bureau organization.”
Dale Moore and Terri Moore, who are not related, previously worked together USDA under former secretary Johanns.
Moore began her career as a journalist and worked with local TV network affiliates for CBS and ABC. She also serves on the Center for Food Integrity management team.
She starts with Farm Bureau July 8.
