Nevada’s Clean Energy Project (CEP) seeks to shape national and regional development of green energy. As the coalition moves forward, members plan to influence federal tax policy and regional transmission planning. The group wants to build on its success with the Energy Choice Initiative, a ballot initiative approved with 72 percent support by Nevada voters, which stands to begin the process of establishing a competitive retail electricity market in the state if passed again in 2018. CEP hopes to bring expertise to discussions by learning from the experiences of other states through comparative policy analysis, and represent Nevada in regional and national discussions.
