USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking comments on approval of a corn variety genetically engineered to resist western corn rootworm and glufosinate-ammonium herbicides.
The European Commission has approved Syngenta’s Agrisure Duracade, a trait genetically engineered to control corn rootworm, for import as food or feed.
Syngenta has received a positive scientific opinion from the European Food Safety Authority for food and feed use of Agrisure Duracade, allowing the corn trait to move to the next step in the process of final grain import approval.
