U.S. corn and ethanol groups are celebrating a recent shipment to Mexico of gasoline with a 10% ethanol blend, but the fate of a more permanent acceptance of E10 in the country isn’t yet solidified as the government works to rewrite regulations to boost the legal blend rate.
Supporters of EPA’s upcoming proposal to allow year-round use of gasoline blended with 15 percent ethanol made their case on a call with reporters today, saying that the blend is safe, dependable, and cuts down on smog-forming tailpipe emissions.
MEXICO, June 21, 2017 - The Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) says it will increase the maximum amount of ethanol that can be blended in gas supplies from 5.8 percent to 10 percent.
