Following the historic daylong agriculture focus at this year’s international climate conference, Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says a partnership with next year’s host nation should offer a chance for the ag sector to take an even more important role.
Agriculture has played a prominent role at the United Nations climate conference, where a broad range of companies, groups and governments have been discussing issues ranging from reparations for climate damage to the role of livestock in contributing to and perhaps even mitigating the problem.
The Biden administration announced plans for a web-based international climate hub for climate-smart agriculture as government officials, non-governmental organizations and industry met in Egypt to discuss a path forward for limiting greenhouse gas emissions.
