Basil Gooden’s nomination to be USDA’s next Rural Development undersecretary has been confirmed by the Senate, ending the months-long nomination process.
Nominees for top posts at USDA and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission sailed through their hearing before the Senate Agriculture Committee, which is expected to advance their nominations next week.
Neil Kornze has moved to K Street to be the senior vice president of Cassidy & Associates. Kornze is a former chief of staff for Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., and served as the director of the Bureau of Land Management during the Obama administration.
