California is taking steps to use fairgrounds across the state during national disasters and emergencies. The California Department of Food and Agriculture has announced $89 million in grants to the Fairgrounds Resilience Centers Program.
The Western Fairs Association and California Fairs Alliance are pushing for emergency funding for fairgrounds in “any potential financial recovery or stimulus.”
As action ramped up in the final days of the legislative session, two bills expanding broadband access fell by the wayside without notice or explanation.
