Event Description
With Farm Bill reauthorization under way and expected to intensify next year, the 2022 congressional midterm elections carry huge implications for farm, food and agriculture policy. What began in the 1930s as a short bill seeking to address challenges posed by the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl is now a 12-title, $430 billion piece of legislation that covers supplemental nutrition assistance, crop insurance, conservation, trade, research, rural development and forestry, among other issues of critical importance to U.S. food and agriculture producers and consumers, including tribal and indigenous community stakeholders. Please join members of Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group for an overview of key House and Senate races and how the results may impact the 2023 Farm Bill reauthorization process, which will in turn serve as a road map for U.S. food and agriculture policy and spending for the next five years.
