Commerce announces new draft of U.S.- Mexico sugar trade agreement

WASHINGTON, June 14, 2017 – The U.S. Commerce Department announced today a new draft a deal with Mexico to tighten the amount of refined sugar that the country can export to the U.S. The newly revised “suspension agreement” mostly the same as the deal unveiled on June 6 and is being poured over by U.S. refiners and food manufacturers.

Farm groups, lenders urge Congress to ensure access to credit

WASHINGTON, June 14, 2017 – A group of 21 farm and lending organizations, including the National Farmers Union and the American Bankers Association, is urging the leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations committees to make sure the country’s farmers and ranchers have adequate access to credit as they face another year of difficult economic conditions.
