Polling shows the fight over Prop. 15 on the November ballot to be a tight race, offering hope for the coalition of farm groups that has been among the earliest opponents of the ballot measure on property taxes.
The response from a CDFA economic analysis as well as trade groups has been that these cutbacks could be devastating for citrus, winegrape and cotton growers.
United Farm Workers, a co-sponsor of the bill, labeled CDFA Secretary Karen Ross as “dangerous” for negotiating an exemption on the granular form under the ban.
