Sweeping proposals released by the Trump administration Thursday to change the way the government implements the Endangered Species Act provoked fairly predictable reactions – environmental groups blasted them, and industry groups welcomed them.
Federal wildlife agencies would consult with the Environmental Protection Agency on the effect of pesticides on endangered species in a much different way, if the farm bill introduced by House Agriculture Chairman Mike Conaway, R-Texas, becomes law.
Federal agencies will begin meeting formally to discuss the best way to evaluate the effects of pesticides on endangered species, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt said at the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture Winter Policy Conference Wednesday.
