NEVADA, September 6, 2017 - The Public Utilities Committee of Nevada has implemented a statute amending residential renewable energy laws, providing protections and revising provisions governing net metering. Assembly Bill 405 passed the state legislature over the summer, with lawmakers directing the PUCN to put the Renewable Energy Bill of Rights into effect by September 1. “Nevadans have said loud and clear they want the choice to install solar on their own homes and see solar jobs grow again in Nevada. That was the intent of AB 405,” said Sean Gallagher, vice president of state affairs of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). “Solar businesses in the state now have the certainty they need to get back to work.” In accordance with Nevada legislature, PUCN developed a web page detailing the bill of rights.
