WASHINGTON, August 9, 2017 - Ethanol exports were down 22 percent from May, according to the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) June analysis. Barrels shipped to Canada totaled 24.8 million gallons (mg), overtaking Brazil at 20.9 mg. India re-entered the market receiving 13.6 mg of American ethanol, after taking time off since March. Exports for the year reached 686.6 mg for a projected record export year of 1.37 billion gallons. The U.S. imported ethanol in June for the second month in a row this year, to total 20.2 mg, which brings the RFA yearly import estimate to 40.4 mg. Exports of the ethanol animal feed co-product, distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS), increased 20 percent to 889,114 metric tons (mt) for the month. Mexico took the largest part of those exports with 175,433 mt. The six-month total for DDGS exports comes to 5.54 million mt, with yearly projection of 11.08 million mt.
