WASHINGTON, July 5, 2017 - The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee has passed H.R. 3043 and H.R. 2786, designed to improve the hydropower licensing process while protecting existing EPA authority and environmental laws. “This legislation puts these common-sense solutions in place while expressly preserving existing authority under our nation’s foundational environmental laws, such as the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act,” said Linda Church Ciocci, executive director of the National Hydropower Association.
