WASHINGTON, June 28, 2017 - Eight national renewable energy business groups issued a joint statement, “A Shared Vision of the 21st Century Grid,” calling for a supportive market structure, tax policy continuity, and a modernized electrical grid. In it, the groups say their “vision of the future power grid promises economic savings, improved reliability, greater access to electric power, environmental improvement, and more diverse choices for consumers and producers of electric power.” Signing the statement were leaders from the American Council on Renewable Energy, American Wind Energy Association, American Biogas Council, Biomass Power Association, Energy Recovery Council, Geothermal Energy Association, National Hydropower Association and Solar Energy Industries Association.
