Lundberg Family Farms is expanding its regenerative organic certified portfolio, including the commodity in more than 70 products after becoming the first rice brand to launch it last year.

The Regenerative Organic Alliance certified more than 8,500 acres of rice for Lundberg, four times what the company grew last year. According to the company, Lundberg grows about 70% of the certified regenerative organic rice produced in California, with plans to transition its entire organic acreage to the practice by 2027.

In a release, Suzanne Sengelmann, Lundberg’s chief growth officer, called the growth a “massive opportunity to positively impact consumers’ plates and the planet.” She said that offering the rice throughout the company’s product portfolio, including 90-second rice, rice cakes and other products — “has the potential to introduce a broad audience of convenience-minded and conventional consumers to regenerative organic products. We’re betting the farm on it."

The company, based in Richvale, California, has been producing rice since the 1960s. As part of the transition to regenerative production, Lundberg plans to change its packaging with a new design “inspired by the vibrant ecosystems their farming practices help protect.”
