USDA has extended the deadline to submit applications for the $665 million Farm and Food Worker Relief (FFWR) Grant Program to March 10.
The Agricultural Marketing Service said it’s also updated the requirements on employment verification methods for eligible beneficiaries. The old signup deadline was Feb. 8.
Under the program authorized by the 2021 appropriations bill, AMS will competitively award the funding to state agencies, tribal entities and nonprofit organizations “with experience providing support or relief services to farmworkers or meatpacking workers. Of this amount, $20 million is set aside for at least one pilot program to support grocery workers.”
