Cattlemen who have been wishing for more diversified beef processing capacity now have another new facility on the drawing board. American Foods Group, a division of Rosen’s Diversified, announced that Warren County, Missouri, has been selected as the planned location of a new state-of-the-art beef processing facility, pending final approval.

Once established, the facility west of the St. Louis region would create more than 1,300 new jobs, and AFG will potentially invest $450 million, according to county officials.

“Missouri is able to compete for projects of this magnitude because of our strong agriculture community and business-friendly economy,” said Gov. Mike Parson.

Earlier this year, Cattlemen’s Heritage Beef announced plans to construct a new $325 million beef processing plant in southwest Iowa. About 120 miles southeast of St. Louis, Saline River Farms, LLC, has also announced plans to build an 83,000-square-foot beef and pork processing facility.
