Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-V.A. represents Virginia's 7th Congressional District, which is comprised of 10 counties throughout Central Virginia. She began her career in public service, first serving as a federal agent with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigating money laundering and narcotics cases, and then serving as a case officer with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) working counterterrorism and nuclear nonproliferation cases. Representative Spanberger serves on the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture - chairing the Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee and the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Anne Alonzo is the Senior Vice President, External Affairs & Chief Sustainability Officer for Corteva Agriscience where she has responsibility for setting global strategy and leading the External Affairs function, which includes Corporate Communications, Corporate Responsibility, Government & Industry Affairs, and Product Advocacy. Alonzo holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law.
Mitchell Hora is a 7th generation Iowa farmer and the founder and CEO of Continuum Ag. His farm has stressed the importance of no-till since 1978. It has become a hub for innovation in adopting diverse cover crops, interseeded covers, relay cropping, small grains, and other soil health practices. Hora started Continuum Ag while attending Iowa State University and has built its footprint to 40 states and 11 countries. The company launched the first soil health data tool, TopSoil, in 2020 and has amassed the largest private soil health dataset. Today, Hora and his team are working with farmers, consultants, and sustainability-focused organizations to improve the on-farm monetization of soil health.
Moira Mcdonald is director of the environment program at the Walton Family Foundation. For the last 11 years, she led the foundation’s Mississippi River and coastal initiatives. Mcdonald has more than 20 years’ experience in wetlands and freshwater conservation and previously managed Mississippi River and Great Lakes programs at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. She received her undergraduate degree in environmental science and Russian studies from Brown University and has a master’s and a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Minnesota.
