Kyle Kunkler will be joining the American Soybean Association’s policy team later this month, Agri-Pulse has learned. Kunkler will start in the association's Washington, D.C., office on Feb. 20 as director of government affairs, focusing on biotech and crop protection.
He'll report to ASA Executive Director of Government Affairs Christy Seyfert.
Kunkler was raised in Washington state, where his mother’s family grows potatoes and onions. He will head to ASA from the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where he managed federal government affairs on food, agriculture, energy, and environmental policy for three years.

Previously, he served on the legislative teams of Washington Republicans Rep. Dan Newhouse and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, as well as at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
ASA members will have an opportunity to meet Kunkler in a few weeks at Commodity Classic.
