The Almond Alliance of California crowned Assemblymember Heath Flora, R-Ripon, as the 2019 Almond Champion of the Year on Tuesday for “for his leadership in educating his colleagues on both sides of the aisle about issues important to the California almond industry.”
The alliance recognized Flora for bringing to life “the informal Almond Caucus” and drawing Legislators to the group’s Almond Movers and Shakers event and the Almond Festival at the State Capitol.
Almond Alliance Chairman Mike Curry said in a statement, “We look forward to his continued leadership while helping us expand the knowledge about California almonds within the State Capitol.”
