Two class-action lawsuits were filed against Sacramento’s Blue Diamond Growers in September in a New York federal court. The lawsuits assert the food producer’s marketing misleads consumers into believing Almond Breeze almond milk contains vanilla. The attorney for the plaintiffs, who has filed several similar suits over ice cream and other products, argues the ingredients do not contain vanilla, but “unspecified natural flavors.” They are seeking a $5 million reward.
