CHESTERFIELD, MO., August 4 – John Deere and the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) announced the company’s membership to USFRA’s Premier Partner Advisory Group (PPAG).

USFRA, which leads a national effort to strengthen the image of agriculture and enhance public trust in today’s agricultural production practices, requires its PPAG members to make an annual commitment of at least $500,000.

“John Deere is honored to support USFRA’s efforts on behalf of the hard-working and dedicated farmers and ranchers of America,” said Don Borgman, director of industry relations for John Deere. “We are committed to USFRA and working with all sectors of the agriculture industry to tell the accurate story of today’s production agriculture.”

With their commitment, PPAG members have the opportunity to participate in the USFRA Annual Meeting, USFRA committees/task forces and in USFRA board meetings. Members also elect a representative to serve as an ex-officio member of the USFRA Executive Committee.

USFRA’s members represent nearly all aspects of U.S. agriculture. The Alliance focuses on enhancing consumer trust in today’s food production through education and communications to consumer influencers and thought leaders.

“It is important that the agriculture industry unite for the common goal of enhancing public trust in the U.S. food system to help ensure healthy choices for people everywhere,” said Bob Stallman, president of the American Farm Bureau and chairman of USFRA.  “With sponsors like John Deere, USFRA will achieve its objectives of enhancing consumer trust, maintaining and enhancing the freedom of U.S. farmers and ranchers to operate in a responsible manner, and strengthening collaboration within the food production, processing and distribution systems.”
