Michawn Rich and Meghan Rodgers are moving up to new roles at USDA.
Rich (pictured above) was named communications director at USDA for Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, filling a position previously held by Tim Murtaugh. In February, President Donald Trump announced that Murtaugh would be joining his re-election campaign.
Since then, Rich, who had been working as deputy communications director, has been filling in as interim communications director.
A native of Reno, Nevada, Rich has been at USDA since the beginning of the Trump Administration, serving on the beachhead team. Before joining USDA, she worked for Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev.
No stranger to the East coast, Meghan Rodgers is a native from New Jersey. She has been at USDA since August 2018 and came to the department from Capitol Hill where she worked as the communications director for Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Flo., and legislative correspondent for Rep. Patrick Meehan, R-Penn. Rodgers will serve as the USDA's new deputy communications director.
