WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2015 - Agri-Pulse is pleased to welcome Steve
Davies as an Associate Editor, based in our Washington, D.C. office.
Davies has a great deal of experience dealing with federal and
state regulatory issues. Most recently he worked as the editor of Endangered
Species & Wetlands Report, a monthly newsletter covering regulations,
legislation and litigation, which he launched in 1995. Prior to that, he wrote
for Green Markets and Green Markets Dealer Report, newsletters focused on the
fertilizer industry.
“I am delighted to add someone with Steve’s knowledge and
experience to our editorial team,” says Agri-Pulse Editor Sara Wyant. “As
farmers and agribusinesses are faced with more and more regulatory challenges,
he will be closely monitoring these issues and help us continue to expand our
Capitol Hill coverage.”
Davies began his professional journalism career as a copy editor
and reporter at the Gazette Newspapers in Gaithersburg, Md., before moving on
to The Sentinel in Carlisle, Pa., where he covered Cumberland County
government.
He grew up in Chevy Chase, Md., and overseas – Moscow, Calcutta
(now Kolkata) and Warsaw, where his father served as a Foreign Service officer.
He graduated from Brown University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Russian
Studies. He lives in Takoma Park, Md., and has two children, Gwyn and Henry.
