Corryn LaRue, Agri-Pulse 2018 Summer Intern

Agri-Pulse welcomes La Rue as summer intern

Corryn La Rue will join the Agri-Pulse editorial team in Washington, D.C. in May, where she will cover hearings and events, writing for the company’s subscription-only newsletter and web site.

“We are looking forward to having Corryn join our team this summer as part of our ongoing summer internship program,” said Agri-Pulse Editor Sara Wyant. “It’s a great opportunity to help train and work with our next generation of communicators.”

La Rue is a junior at Utah State University, where she is pursuing a double major in Agriculture Communications and Journalism and a minor in Animal Science. She was awarded an Undergraduate Research and Creative Opportunity grant for her study into perceptions of genetically modified organisms.

She says she looks forward to making a difference in agriculture by closing the communication gap between policy makers and farmers. Working in Washington D.C. has been a goal for La Rue for some time now.

“I wanted to end up in Washington D.C.,” La Rue said. “It’s always been in my plans.”

The California native has worked with the National Association of Farm Broadcasting, National FFA Organization, American General Media, AgNet West, and Double H Bar Incorporated.
