The California Labor and Workforce Development Agency has contracted with UC Davis health and safety experts to provide training information to reduce the risk of farmworkers contracting COVID-19.

The team will work with industry groups and farmworker organizations throughout the state’s biggest agricultural regions. The program will also help farmers comply with new workplace standards from Cal/OSHA.

“As employers across the state implement the new COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards, we want to be a resource for them so they can take all the necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment,” said Heather Riden, program director at the UC Davis Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety.
