WASHINGTON, July 18, 2014— USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) today approved a soybean genetically engineered to tolerate exposure to the herbicides glufosinate and mesotrione. Syngenta and Bayer CropScience developed the seed.

USDA received the petition in August 2012.
