Ft. Collins, CO, Aug. 27 – The fourth USDA/DOJ competition workshop attracted a record crowd Friday in Colorado, with over 1,100 watching the event in the Lory Student Center and another 900 in overflow rooms watching on live streaming video.

The room is overflowing with cowboy hats and boots, as well as a strong showing from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

There are a lot of familiar faces: Some of the farm organization officials, lobbyists and activist group leaders have attended all of the prior workshops. But there are a lot of new folks who are attending a workshop for the first time, with farmers and ranchers from all across the West arriving by the busload.
