Washington, June 9 – Agri-Pulse Communications, Inc. welcomes their 2010 summer intern, Melissa Coon. She will spend the summer covering meetings, writing for the website, and producing items for the Agri-Pulse e-newsletter.

“As someone who started her career as an intern, I can attest to how important it is to have on-the-job writing and editing experience,” says Editor Sara Wyant. “We look forward to helping her learn all aspects of the electronic publishing business.”

Coon is a sophomore at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) majoring in journalism. She grew up in West Des Moines, IA, where her family ran a local sod business. In high school, she wrote for the school paper as well as the local community paper, Dallas County Today. She was an Iowa State Finalist in the National American Miss Jr. Teen pageant and an all-state finalist in the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA). Currently, she is involved in Zeta Tau Alpha at Mizzou.

Coon is looking forward to spending time in Washington, D.C and in the Camdenton, Missouri office as part of her internship this summer and hopes to learn more through her experience with Agri-Pulse.
